Dual kidney yin and yang vacuity with vacuity-fire. Lung dual qi and yin vacuity. Blood and qi vacuity. Wei qi vacuity, insufficient right qi.

Therapeutic Functions

Boosts and supplements qi, strengthens right qi, enriches yin, nourishes blood, engenders fluids, fortifies spleen, warms and supplements kidneys, checks sweating, allays thirst.*

Clinical Indications

AIDS, chronic fatigue syndrome, leukemia, leukopenia, chronic bronchitis, and neurasthenia.

Symptoms & Signs

Emaciation, tidal fever, fatigue, lassitude, loss of appetite, spontaneous and night sweat, dry mouth, thirst, dry skin, headache, shortness of breath, nasal congestion, dry cough or cough with sticky phlegm, nausea, diarrhea, numbness, tingling and/or pain in the limbs, irritability, anxiety, depression, shen disturbance, testicular pain, impotence, sexual obsessiveness.

Precautions

Contraindicated with high fever or presence of external pathogen. Ganoderma is antagonized by Folium Artemisia Yinchenhao (yin chen hao).

Pulse Quality

Usually deep, vacuous or fine. If superficial, it is easily collapsed.

Tongue Appearance

Red, often with a midline fissure, redder tips and sides with scant or peeled coating.
