Clinical Indications
Lymphadenitis, common cold with lingering fever after several days, influenza, upper respiratory tract infection, epidemic parotitis, acute rheumatic fever, malaria, acute and chronic bronchitis, tuberculosis, pleuritis, pneumonia, sinusitis, renal colic, gastritis, gastric ulcer, acute and viral hepatitis, cholecystitis, jaundice, torticollis, otitis media, tonsillitis, mastitis, postpartum fever.
Symptoms & Signs
Alternating fever and chills, vertigo, muscle aches, chest and lateral costal region fullness, crepitus in joints.
Precautions
The formula is ascending in action, and so it should not be used for patients with repletion above and vacuity below, liver fire, or bleeding gums. Use cautiously in patients with ascendancy of liver yang, hypertension, vomiting of blood due to yin vacuity, headache, or dizziness.

Wiry.
