Clinical Indications
Musculoskeletal disorders of the lower body including low back pain, weak lower extremities, vulnerability to injuries of the lower extremities. Benign prostatic hypertrophy, neurasthenia. Endocrinological disorders: hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus and primary hyperaldosteronism. Chronic urinary tract disorders: interstitialcystitis, glomerulonephritis, nephrosclerosis, kidney stones, kidney tuberculosis, pyelitis, albuminurea, edema, cystitis, urinary incontinance and urethritis.
Symptoms & Signs
Low back pain, weak lower extremities, cold lower body sensations (palpation by the knees reveals a cold sensation), pale urination, frequent or difficult urination, stagnant fluids and edema of the lower body.
Precautions
Do not use this formula in cases of yin vacuity with a dry mouth and throat and a red tongue. The exception is cold feet due to yang vacuity. Do not use this formula for patients with diarrhea or chronic gastrointestinal weakness.
Pulse Quality
Deep, faint, weak, faint in the proximal position.
Tongue Appearance
Pale, swollen body; thin, white, moist coat with possible bubbles on the surface.
