Therapeutic Functions
Quickens the blood and transforms stasis, courses the qi, nourishes blood.*
Clinical Indications
Angina pectoris, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, pancreatitis, hepatitis, and cholecystitis.
Symptoms & Signs
Palpitations, stabbing abdominal pain or epigastric pain which radiates upward, hypochondriac pain, and irritability.
Precautions
Contraindicated in pregnancy or with hemorrhagic disorder.
Pulse Quality
Deep, choppy.
Tongue Appearance
Purplish, possibly pale-purple.
