David Jones

L.Ac., Dipl. OM

Founder, Herbalogic

David Jones has spent nearly two decades bringing Traditional Chinese Medicine into everyday American life — as a clinician, an educator, and the founder and chief formulator of Herbalogic, a nationally distributed Chinese herbal brand.

Background

David earned his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2006 from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, with additional clinical training in Chengdu and Lhasa, and earned Diplomate of Oriental Medicine certification (NCBAHM) the same year. He currently serves as Professor of Herbal Studies at Lotus Professional College.

From Clinic to Brand

After graduation, David co-founded Austin Healing Herbs and Acupuncture (AHHA), building it from a startup practice into a functioning clinic over three years. During that time he began developing what would become Herbalogic, growing it from an idea into a nationally distributed Chinese herbal brand carried by retailers including Whole Foods and Sprouts.

As founder and chief formulator, David developed the herbal formulas at the core of the brand, drawing on his clinical training and years of patient-facing herb work. When Herbalogic needed his full attention, he closed AHHA and, to fund the transition, served as chief acupuncturist aboard the MS Mercury before turning to Herbalogic full time. Eighteen years on, he continues to represent Chinese herbal medicine through the brand.

Professional Leadership

David serves as the Acupuncture and Herbal Vendor Coalition (AHVC) delegate to the five-member board of the Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (AHM) Coalition, helping shape policy and advocacy for the profession. He also created and taught a course that prepares acupuncturists for their herbal board exams, building an extensive bank of mock exams used by students preparing for certification.

Clinical Work and Consulting

Alongside his work at Herbalogic, David has consulted directly with Jing Herbs customers for the past three years, helping make sure they are matched with the right herbs for their needs — work that draws on his clinical background and his years of formulating and teaching Chinese herbal medicine.

David and his wife live in north central Washington and get out into the mountains together as often as they can.
