Healing in the Community

Far East Summit believes that
Medicine is the Art of Humanity
and that it is the Original Medicine within
that will allow us to heal ourselves
and our communities.

Another inspiration for us are the words of the "Great Healer" Sun Si Miao (581-682). We consider it a "Physician's Creed."

"This company exists to alleviate suffering and disease, to cultivate and improve life. Every action shall be measured by our success in achieving these goals. Medicine is always for the people. The Original Medicine is our first priority. We extend our experience and guidance of this Original Medicine to the doctors, practitioners, hospitals, clinics, families and all that use our products. Our products must be of the highest quality, our associations of the utmost integrity." ...

Our Living Credo

Medicine is the Art of Humanity

In our efforts to fulfill our view that Medicine is the Art of Humanity, Far East Summit offers the following for healing in the community and the development of Dao Earth culture:

Supporting Practitioners

Our refined Dao Earth herbal products have been designed to support practitioners in their clinics for the healing of their patients and our communities. Far East Summit donates product to select non-profit, donation-based drop-in clinics and helps stock dispensaries in needy communities to help advance healthcare services and community-based medicine.

In our commitment to supporting Dao Earth Traditions, our sourcing philosophy is rooted in care for the earth and the people who cultivate it. We work with herbal suppliers who seek out local wildcrafters and growers, helping to sustain local economies and reinforcing the significance of preserving authentic Dao Earth herbal traditions.

Opening the Lifegate & Dao Earth Wisdom

To support the establishment of a Dao Earth culture here in the West, Far East Summit founded Lifegate Institute to present and preserve methods of culivation for health, longevity, and spiritual realization. We encourage the opening of the "Dao of Life" within each individual through the restoration of Dao Earth wisdom which is necessary for the healing of our communities. Traditional self-cultivation and medical arts are an essential part of preventative medicine and recovering health.

Mountain Way and Community

Through Lifegate, Far East Summit has developed Mountain Way Self-Care products for nurturing and sustaining individuals and their communities who recognize and treasure the importance of living in harmony with heaven, earth and nature.

Our goal is to work toward the development of a health care system capable of providing physicians with the tools to manage the care and recovery of their patients.

We take the sourcing of ALL our raw materials very seriously, including water which is a key component to manufacturing. That’s why we go to the extra expense of purchasing 100% natural spring water from a local Oregon company that harvests from a single pristine source deep beneath the Central Oregon Cascades where the water is filtered naturally by thick layers of volcanic basalt.

Dao Earth & Our Environment

In our role as a conscientious manufacturer we seek to be environmentally aware in all of our business activities:

 • Facility carbon footprint 100% wind-generated power

• 100% LED lighting in offices and plant

• Glass bottles are utilized to package our products; plastics (HDPE, etc.) are never used.

• Recycling packaging materials, glass bottles, void-fills in our shipping

• Herb Marc reintroduced into the earth as compost/fertilizer

• Bulk metal/plastic containers are all recycled

Whether it’s in material sourcing, herb processing, our shipping & receiving department or our administrative activities, we accept our small duty to the preservation of the earth’s resources.

The Role of the Cultivated Physician

A cultivated and skilled physician can truly assist his or her patients, not only in healthcare concerns, but in guiding them to recognize and value their own essential nature.

In the modern clinic, many knowledgeable Asian Medicine practitioners are forced to focus on being skilled technicians, often neglecting the study of Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) which offers deep insight into human nature and the cause and treatment of suffering within humanity.

The understanding of the Living Potential has been central to the teachings and practice of sages and cultivated physicians of both oral and written traditions for thousands of years. For CCM and its culture to take root in the West, this Living Potential must find its rightful place in the life of each health care practitioner.

In order for the practitioner to seek and live this “Dao of Life” he or she must delve deeply into the arts and medicine of the tradition. Only by cultivating body-mind-spirit can a practitioner truly assist one’s patients.
