Dr. Christine Chang

Dr. Chang’s training began in Taiwan, where she studied herbal medicine, Tui Na, Feng Shui, Zen meditation and facial diagnosis — a foundation in the classical arts that still shapes her clinical and teaching work today.

Dr. Chang earned her Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine (MTOM) in 2001 and her Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) in 2006 from Emperor’s College. She joined the college staff in 2000 and served on its faculty from 2003 to 2025. She also teaches in the master’s and doctoral programs at Yo San University and other institutions.

Since 2010, Dr. Chang has represented the U.S. Traditional Chinese Medicine profession as a delegate to ISO/TC 249 — the international committee that sets standards for Traditional Chinese Medicine — at meetings in several countries. She chairs the Herbal Committee of the American Society of Acupuncturists, has served on the board of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and contributed to the WHO ICD-11 working group.

Dr. Chang consults for major herbal companies and was part of the team that introduced acupuncture to the emergency room at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles in 2003. Since 2004, she has served as a simultaneous interpreter for lectures by Dr. Wei-Chieh Young.

Her clinical and teaching focus includes pain management, geriatric care, women’s health, internal medicine, nutrition, herbal formulas and Tui Na. She provides professional education, public health education and private practice services in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, California.
