Clinical Indications
Anemia, pleurisy, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, hepatitis, neurosis, neurasthenia, insomnia, optic nerve atrophy, central retinitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibrocystic breasts, premenstrual syndrome, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, menopausal syndrome.
Symptoms & Signs
Alternating hot and cold, fatigue, reduced appetite, insomnia, vertigo, dry mouth and throat, headache, dizziness, hypochondriac pain, loose stools, impotence, breast distention, irregular menstruation and menorrhagia.
Precautions
Use cautiously in patients with yin vacuity and with an ascension of liver yang. Bupleurum and Dong Quai Formula may cause headaches and nausea in individuals with these conditions.
Pulse Quality
Wiry, fine, vacuous.
Tongue Appearance
Pale red tongue.
