Clinical Indications
This formula treats a large range of disorders that result from binding of heat and cold that obstructs the central burner. The list includes gastritis, mouth and tongue sores, insomnia, eczema, vaginal discharge diarrhea, vomiting, intestinal noises and dizziness.
Symptoms & Signs
This formula treats heat-cold obstruction in the middle burner that results in painless glomus in the epigastric region, nausea, retching, borborygmi and diarrhea.
Precautions
This formula is acrid, bitter and causes qi to descend. Thus, it is not suitable for long-term use. Further, since it contains several supplementing herbs it is intended for treatment of glomus, diarrhea, nausea etc. when these symptoms are owing to a mixed excess-deficiency pattern. It should not be applied to simple excess patterns.
