Processing Method & Herbal Constituents
Our extraction equipment, custom designed according to our exact
specifications, allows us to control and monitor our “phased” produced
extracts, regulating temperature, time, and pressure in an enclosed
system. Using our proprietary methods, we can choose from any combination
of five extraction methods using determining factors such as:
* Raw herb(s) and other ingredient(s)
* The specific formula involved
* The choice of solvent
* Length of processing
* Range of temperature and pressure requirements
As solvents, both alcohol and water have been important to the processing of herbal products in both the East and West for centuries. Specific water or water-alcohol combinations are key to most effectively extracting the active components of an herb from the cells of the plant. Water-soluble components include polysaccharides, saponins, and vitamins. Alcohol-soluble activities include alkaloids, triterpenoids, and essential oils.
